Your new house has a pre-installed security system
Many times after you close on a home, you’ll notice that the previous owners used a home security system. All the devices function well, are installed in the correct places, and are ready to go. In this example, all you may have to do is to call and establish a new contract. A Vivint professional will still show up to ensure there are no compatibility issues, and they might offer options on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a quick appointment, and you can have your monitoring set up without having a bill for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a one-time set-up cost to make the transfer a snap. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to an apartment complex or retirement community, turning over the Vivint service may be a part of the sale.
You want to move and bring your home security equipment with you
You may need to bring your old home security components with you to a new house when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to do, as most alarms and smart devices are portable. You can take down each alarm or camera yourself or call a Vivint expert to take down your devices. Then our installers will put in the same devices -- and any new items you want -- in the new place. Your home security contract will stay the same.
